Error message: ‘The operation failed because the VM is already suspended.’

Error description

Generally, this error occurs when you try to change the power state of a VM that was suspended (or hibernated) from within the guest OS. In such cases, the VM appears to be running in the Kyndryl Cloud Uplift web interface.

A Kyndryl Cloud Uplift service periodically checks all Kyndryl Cloud Uplift VMs to make sure that the Kyndryl Cloud Uplift web interface accurately shows the VMs actual power state. In some cases, the service may lag a power-state change that was initiated from within the guest OS.

Resolution

In most cases, you can wait a few minutes for the Kyndryl Cloud Uplift service to update the power state of the VM. Alternatively, you can manually suspend or shut down , and then resume or restart the VM.
