Error message: ‘The operation failed because the VM is already suspended.’

Error description

Generally, this error occurs when you try to change the power state of a VM that was suspended (or hibernated) from within the guest OS. In such cases, the VM appears to be running in the Skytap web interface.

A Skytap service periodically checks all Skytap VMs to make sure that the Skytap web interface accurately shows the VMs actual power state. In some cases, the service may lag a power-state change that was initiated from within the guest OS.

Resolution

In most cases, you can wait a few minutes for the Skytap service to update the power state of the VM. Alternatively, you can manually suspend or shut down , and then resume or restart the VM.
