For instructions about exporting a Power LPAR and importing it as a Skytap VM, see Importing Power VMs.

For instructions about importing x86 VMs into Skytap, see Importing x86 VMs using the VM Imports page.

When you import VM files into Skytap:
  • You verify that your VMs meet the import requirements.
  • Your files are packaged together as an import job and uploaded to a Skytap FTP server.
  • The Skytap import services copy the files from the import job and transforms them into a fully functional Skytap environment.

Once the virtual environment is created, you can begin using Skytap features with it.
