December 2021
Updated Network Adapters page
Skytap has updated the user interface for Network Adapters to make creating, viewing, and editing VM network settings easier.
New Skytap on Azure Dublin region

Updates for Course Manager
The new default event details page provides a thumbnail view of all participant labs. For more information about using the event details page, see Delivering the event.

Copy running VMs
We added the ability to make a copy of an environment that contains running VM without shutting it down or suspending it. Now you can “live clone” a running VM (within the same region). In addition to copying a running VM, you can save an environment with running VMs as a template. Additionally, if you have a schedule that automatically saves an environment to a template, you no longer have to shut it down or suspend it.

We added the following new Skytap region:

IBM Rational Development for i
Skytap customers can now activate Rational Development Studio for IBM i licenses for IBM i VMs in Skytap.
Rational Development Studio for i includes several development tools and support for several development languages.
Updates for Course Manager
Course Manager administrators can now do the following:
- Change many of the settings in their Course Manager account. For more information, see Managing account settings.
- Manage tag-driven behavior. For more information, see Using tags with Course Manager.
Deprecation of unsecured FTP access for shared drive and VM imports
As of September 1, 2021, Skytap, will permit only SFTP access for shared drive and VM imports. Unsecured FTP access will be disabled.

Deprecation of unsecured FTP access for shared drive and VM imports
As of September 1, 2021, Skytap, will permit only SFTP access for shared drive and VM imports. Unsecured FTP access will be disabled.
Deprecation of Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
As of September 1, 2021, Skytap will cease active development and support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.
We recommend that users switch to a modern browser, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Apple Safari.

June 2021
API token expiration
We updated the API token expiration policy so that API tokens for new accounts automatically expire after 90 days.
Admins can change this setting or the expiration time from the Access policy tab of the Security Policies page
VM pinning
We added the ability to pin a VM to a host, ensuring customers can use licensed software products that depend on the hardware serial number and LPAR ID.

Terraform updates
We’ve made updates to the Skytap Terraform provider.
- Updated Terraform to v14.
- Added the ability to add environments to projects.
- Added a more flexible timeout capability.

New Hardware settings page
We have updated the VM Hardware settings page to provide a better and more consistent experience

Simplified account settings for GDPR and marketing
We’ve simplified the GDPR and marketing settings for selected user accounts.

Added the ability to disable the shared drive
Administrators can enable and disable the shared drive for individual regions or for all regions.
When you disable a shared drive, its contents are permanently deleted.
