Managing your account settings
Use the My Account page to view and edit information about your user account.

Viewing and editing account information
You can view and edit information about your user account from the My Account page. To access this page, click (My account) in the top toolbar of any page.
The following sections display:
Header
This information displays in the header:
Field name | Description |
---|---|
User name | The first and last name of the signed in user. |
Login name | The name you use to sign in to Skytap. |
User role | The level of access you have in Skytap; for more information about user roles, see User roles and access permissions. |
This information is read-only. Contact your account administrator to make changes.
User settings
This information displays in the User settings section:
Field name | Description | How to edit |

The email address used for product notifications from Skytap | Click to change your email address. You can optionally check Tell me about product enhancements and marketing information (but not too often). to receive infrequent emails about Skytap product updates. You can opt out at any time. Check Invite me to participate in product design research. to occasionally receive invitations to participate in product design research, such as usability testing. You will continue to receive usage notification emails or emails when certain actions complete (for example: importing VMs, or copying an environment or template to another region). |

Password | Your current password | Click and follow the prompts to change your password. Your password must meet the minimum requirements set by your account administrator. |
Country of residence | The country you live in. This setting doesn’t affect the time zone associate with your account activity. | Click to change this value. |
Time zone | The time zone associated with your Skytap activities (such as project creation time). This doesn’t affect the time zones that your VMs are in. | Click to change the time zone. |
Default region | The default region for new environments, VM imports, asset uploads, new VPNs, and new public IP addresses. | Click to change the default region. |
Account information
This information displays in the Account information section:
Field name | Description | How to edit |

Account name | The name of your organization’s account. Include the account name if you submit a support case or product request. |

Instance URL | The URL to access your Skytap on Azure account instance (visible only for Skytap on Azure accounts). | N/A; this field is managed by Skytap. |
Primary account administrator | The person at your organization who is responsible for account-wide settings and controls, such as account limits. | N/A; this field is managed by your account administrator. |
Notifications | A list of your current usage notifications | Click Edit my notifications. For more information, see Monitoring your usage with email notifications. |
API security token | Your API security tokens. Token authentication is recommended for API requests. API security tokens are hidden by default. Click Show to display them. |
Contact your account administrator to enable security tokens for your account. |
Department
This information displays in the Department section:
Field name | Description |
---|---|
Department | The name of the department you belong to |
Notes
- You can belong to only one department.
- This information is read-only. Contact your account administrator to make changes.
Groups
This information displays in the Groups section:
Field name | Description |
---|---|
Groups | A list of the groups you belong to; your account administrator manages group membership. Click the name of a group to learn more about it. |

Support tier
This information displays in the Support tier section:

Current support level | The current Skytap Support tier for the account. For detailed descriptions, see Support Offerings (PDF). |
