Additional ways to import Power LPARs
Though there is a large variety of public templates in Kyndryl Cloud Uplift, your company may have unique requirements. In these cases, you can export your pre-configured Power A CPU architecture that supports IBM i, AIX, and Linux (on Power) in Kyndryl Cloud Uplift. LPARs and import them as Kyndryl Cloud Uplift VMs.
Notes
- Power VMs must enabled for your account to import Power LPARs.
- In most cases, we recommend Importing VMs using the VM Imports page, which can import VMs from Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, IBM Cloud Object Storage, or via FTP.
- Other options include Importing VMs or LPARs using IBM Cloud Object Storage and Importing IBM i workloads using direct transfer.

When you import VM files into Kyndryl Cloud Uplift:
- You verify that your LPARs meet the import requirements.
- Your files are packaged together as an import job and uploaded to a Kyndryl Cloud Uplift FTP server.
- The Kyndryl Cloud Uplift import services copy the files from the import job and transforms them into a fully functional Kyndryl Cloud Uplift environment.
Once the virtual environment is created, you can begin using Kyndryl Cloud Uplift features with it.
Currently, Power VMs can be imported only via the Kyndryl Cloud Uplift VM Imports tab.
