Troubleshooting SRA error message 519

Error message

‘Can’t find the VM. (519)’

Error description

The SRA browser client could not connect to the VM over RDP or SSH. This could mean that the RDP or SSH service is not enabled, the VM operating system firewall is blocking access, or the VM network settings are incorrect.

Resolution
  • If you have permission to edit the VM guest operating system:
  1. Switch the browser client connection type to Standard.
  1. In the browser client toolbar, click yes.
  2. Select the Standard (no audio) connection type. display server
  3. Click Apply.
  1. Sign into the VM as an administrator.
  2. Verify the Remote Desktop settings in the guest operating system, and correct them if necessary.
  3. Verify that the Remote Desktop license hasn’t expired.
  4. In the SRA browser session, switch back to the RDP connection type.

If the issue persists, sign back into the VM and disable and re-enable the network adapter in the Windows network settings.

  • If you have permission to edit the VM guest operating system:
  1. Switch the browser client connection type to Standard.
  1. In the browser client toolbar, click ssh.
  2. Select the Standard (no audio) connection type. ssh
  3. Click Apply.

    This terminates your SSH session.

  1. Sign into the VM as an administrator.
  2. Verify that an SSH service is installed and running on the VM. For more information, see Configuring a VM to support SSH connections via the SRA browser client.
  3. In the SRA browser session, switch back to the SSH connection type.


Advanced troubleshooting

If the problem is still unresolved or if you don’t have permission to edit the VM, contact your instructor or administrator.

If you need to use the VM in the meantime, use the Standard connection type in the SRA browser client.
