Changing Range anchor and range

When Configurable Hardware is enabled, you can adjust the RAM and Entitled capacity for a VM, based on initial anchor values that you set in the Edit range view.

To change Range anchor and range
  1. In the Range anchor field, type a RAM value that Skytap will use as the lower, middle, or upper anchor for the range.
  2. Under Select a range, click one of the three displayed ranges.

    • The top range uses the Range anchor as the lowest value for the range.
    • The middle range uses the Range anchor as the median value for the range.
    • The bottom range uses the Range anchor as the highest value for the range.
  3. Click Save.

Notes

  • A range will be unavailable if it exceeds your user limit or the service limit for the region.
  • When you change RAM or Entitled Capacity for a VM, the changes may several minutes to apply—usually about the same amount of time as it takes for the VM to start.
  • Billing for the changed values begins after they've been applied to the VM.
