Changing RAM and Entitled capacity for a Power VM

When Configurable Hardware is enabled, you can adjust the RAM and Entitled capacity for a VM, based on initial anchor values that you set in the Edit range view.

To change RAM and Entitled capacity for a Power VM
  1. Move the RAM and Entitled capacity sliders or type the values you want into the RAM and Entitled capacity fields.
  2. Click Save. Skytap begins the configuration process to apply the new values to the VM.

Notes

  • When you change RAM or Entitled Capacity for a VM, the changes may several minutes to apply—up to 20 minutes, but usually about the same amount of time as it takes for the VM to start.
  • RAM or Entitled Capacity values aren't visible until the new values are fully configured for the VM.
  • If either value exceeds your user limit or the service limit for the region, Skytap automatically chooses the highest value available within those limits when the configuration process is complete.
  • Billing for the changed values begins after the new values are fully configured for the VM.
